Our Ladies

Our ladies live in a chicken coop as most chickens do. Come and meet the latest addition to our crazy zoo.

This is Ebony a Black Sixling. She is a bit wired but we are working with her. Paige has named her and loves to hold her IF she can catch her. She has a red rose comb (the little thing on the top of her head)

This is Crow. Madeline named her because she is all black even the comb on the top of her head. She sorta looks like a big crow up close. She is a lot like her sister Ebony...fast, so we don't get to hold her too often.

Here is Monster she is a Barred Rock chicken. Noah named her. At first the name didn't seem to fit but it has adapted as she loves to peck your fingers so watch out!

Non have laid eggs yet but any time now we should start getting farm fresh eggs... YEAH!

What's tickin!

Don't want to scare you all but I wanted to keep my friends and family updated. So with that being said here is what I found out about me.

Went to the doctor's about a month ago to have Madeline and Ben's shots updated. They are healthy as can be however Doc. mentioned that they had a heart murmur...very common in kids actually all mine but 1 have it no big! I tell the doc oh yeah I was told I had one too when I was 19. I get chest pains all the time yadda yadda yadda. Doctor said oh I want to hear it. So next thing I know he says hmmm lets get you back in I want you to have a what is basicly an ultrasound of my heart. Haven't had it yet I just went in to check how bad of a heart murmur it was and he says it's pretty signifigant but we will know what it actually is when they see it. So what they think it is is MVP...Which I wish was Most Vaulable Player but it is called Mitral Valve Prolapse which again is the most common heart murmur out there but again we will know more soon and I will let you all know just what is going on with my ticker! If it is MVP all I gotta do is eat, sleep, exercise and be healthier (oh how easy-right?) oh and everytime I get dental work or have surgery I get to take antibiotics before I have any of that stuff done so I won't have really bad stuff happen. so like I said it's no big...hopefully! :)
Picture doesn't really explain but you can google MVP heart condition and lots of stuff pop up.

Paul, Pete and the Triathalon

So Saturday the 6th of September Paul & Pete did a Triathalon.

We arrived at 8:15 am. It was a beautiful day!

I tagged along with 6 kids so we could take pictures and cheer for our men! WAY TO GO DADS!!!

It started with a brisk swim (from my point of view). Guys said it wasn't that bad...would they have said other?

Somewhere amongest the splashes Paul and Pete are swimming.

While they swam the kids played in the sand, had a snack and played on the playground.

The kids were troopers as we sat for hours to cheer everyone on.

Here they are off to have a little bike ride (Pete fell during this leg of the race-he walked back but continued the race for the last leg which is the run.)

After what felt like an eternity: some crying, sleeping, a tree, some rock throwing which led to swimming, a very tired mom with 6 kids Paul finally appeared!

We waited for Pete but where was he...Finally he arrived looking a bit haggered.

Good job guys you did it!!!

After some pukes, first aid, some plums to keep his blood sugar up, a blanket to keep him warm after he went into shock and got all pale on us, he finally was able to get into the car. 6 hours later we went home!
(Sugar coated version)
THE END

Oh by the way for those who know them Sandy Ostler competed in the Sprint (shorter version of what Paul did) and Kent Arbon did the Olympic (like Paul & Pete). Way to go you guys!!!

1st day of sChOoL

So like many who have kids in school; today was day 1. Both Paige and Madeline are in school now and it's just Noah and Ben left at home. Lets just say what a nice relaxing day.
Madeline is in all day Kindergarten from 8:15-3:15 and Paige is in 2nd grade.

Day 1 went super, no tears shed from anyone Madeline just sat down like she has always gone to kindergarten and Paige took off to meet her friends as soon as we walked into the school.

Tomorrow they will be walking part way home-what big girls I have.
