Passing gas and the aftermath...

Today someone in my household passed some serious gas. After a few moments my dear little son Noah who was in the same room as this person said as he started gagging, "I think I'm going to be sick..hack hack" so we escorted him to a part of the house that was out of range of the smell and a few minutes later he came back into the room and started gaging again and proceeded to the bathroom!
Lets just say that it was the funniest thing my son has ever said!

While Mom is away....

So on the 15th of November our Ward had a super saturday (You get together and make crafts of all sorts) I left at 9:30am and got home around 5pm. While I was away this is what Paul and the kids did...do I dare leave again ;-)

Paul: "Hmmm Jenny is gone let's have a huge leaf burning bonfire!"

Paul: "Mom said to make sure kids dressed warmly...Check!"

Kids: "Mom's gone get rid of the warm jackets and dance in front of the smokey fire YEAH!!!!"
Paul: "Paige could you watch your brother Ben I need to go FIND Noah?...Noah where are you!!!"
MINUTES PASS!!! HOURS PASS

Paul: (inside with all the kids) "Paige, where's Ben?"

Paige: "He's still outside."

Not sure if this is how it really happened but the Mother may never know! ;-)

Madeline Lost her Tooth!

So after a week of being loose she finally lost it!!!
This is Madeline's 1st one and I'm sure we will have many more soon...could it be, "all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth"?

Sorenson update

I wanted ya all to know I haven't forgotten about my blog I have just been super busy and haven't put anything on it lately. I promise I will soon! (I've been busy on facebook and if you aren't on it you better get on it) Here our our updates:

Paul-turned 32, working hard at his job and in the yard.

Jenny-heart is healthy just some minor stress, started running and eating better for various reasons (so far so good) and trying to get going on some photography.

Paige-no longer has a spacer in her mouth (what a waste of money), doing super in school.

Madeline-turned 6, has 4 cavities that all need to be fixed (that will cost a fortune-so much for the candy monster), doing super in school too. Has her 1st loose tooth.

Noah-where do I begin, busy, thats really about it. oh he does have 1 cavity and is doing super at home :)

Ben-fallen down the stairs 4 times one of those times was pretty scary but he got up shortly later and was a okay-can't do a baby gate cause he climbs over them. Starting to talk but most of it jibber. Busy too.

I will post something soon as I have stuff to post!

Halloween and our Tradition

Here our our Halloween creatures: Paige was a witch, Madeline a Princess, Noah the cutest Zorro you ever saw and Ben was a park ranger. They all had fun and recieved lots of candy

During Paige's 2nd Halloween I heard about how candy after 3 days is hard on kids teeth. Not that 1 day is better it's just that after 3 days of eating candy the salivia that was supposed to help clean the sugar no longer does it's purpose as well with all the sugar the kids eat so I created the "Candy Monster" It's been a big hit and an awesome tradition in our family. Here is how it works:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Day 3 after Halloween (we do this at Easter too) the kids put all their candy in their sacks and leave a note for the candy monster (opt.) and leave it on the front porch at night. The next morning the Candy Monster has left a sm. cheep (under $5) present for the kids and it then leaves a note of thanks for taking care of their teeth. You can make up any story you like but here is what our candy monster is like. This year his name was Glog. He lives on the moon with his 10 brothers and sisters whom I will not name all. He looks like what ever the kids want him to look like. He has no teeth thats why he can eat all the candy and thats the only food he likes. The only catch is if you don't have any candy left you don't get a prize! This year Paige stopped eating it so she had plenty left! I swear it works wonders!

Our kids like it so much the day they get the candy they always say they want the candy monster to come that night. One year he brought tooth brushes and tooth paste and they were so happy...we were so glad we thought they would be upset but it probably was one of the best years. So you should try it. the best part is YOU get the candy and your kids stop asking for it. This year I gave it to my Young Women at church.

Chop Chop

So it has been 3 years with my long hair, don't get me wrong I loved my long hair but I thought since I've been working out and changing somethings in my life I could use a change with my hair style too, so over the weekend while in Salem we payed a visit to our good friend Jill M. and had her cut my hair (12 inches to be exact).

Paul also received a much needed haircut.

Thanks Jill for our awesome new haircuts!

Pauls COOKING GIFT

Have you ever looked at a recipe and said, "I ain't cookin that, it looks way to hard?" Well Paul can say, "oh I want this for dinner" and whip it right up. He has a talent which I am so ever grateful for, especially when I do not want to make anything other then a bowl of cereal. He has the COOKING GIFT, lets not get confused with his ORIGAMI GIFT (that's a whole other story)Lets face it ladies my guy can cook and it is DANG good. He recently decided to just make some donuts to try out the recipe and see how it was. Well it turned out to be a big hit especially on my thighs which I won't totally gross you out with but here are the finished donuts not quite Dunkin Donuts YET but he's improving how he makes them each time!

Here are a few other favorites minus the beets who likes those...apparently they make great food storage and Paul likes them so....

-Paul's peach preserves

-canned peaches and pears

-dried various fruits

-pickled beets and peppers

-his super yummy calazones and pizza's

-his yummy fresh tomato sauces

-authentic tacos

-corn dogs and french fries

-hamburger buns

-fried chicken

-various rice dishes

-breads galore

-donuts

you name it he trys it, and it turns out perfect. What can I tell you he's got the COOKING GIFT!

Dufur's 55th Annual Homecoming Parade!

So here in Dufur during Homecoming the school puts on a parade. This was our 2nd time participating in the annual parade and it's always fun especially in our town of 726 people!

This year the theme was "Songs" Each class picked their own song and dressed up for it. Some of the classes have floats. On the highschool floats they show the princesses and princes of each class.
Pauls parents came out for the fiestivites. Here we are (minus me) waiting for the show to begin!

Here is the beginning of the parade. Some guy was in his wheelchair making a little show not sure who he is but I've seen him around town! It is after all a small town.

They even get folks from the town to ride their horses; lets face it folks it's official when you have horses in the parade!

Here is Madeline's Kindergarten class of 2021! Their song was Happy birthday and each kid wore a shirt that the teacher made for them...they get it on their birthday! We have Madeline here but she was moving so it's a bit blurry

Paige's 2nd grade class of 2019 chose the song "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"

Here is Noah scrambling to pick up candy. We had people in cars tossing candy and almost every class tossed candy and Noah was the only kid in our area he recieved tons of candy. The picture you see is how much he made with the first few cars before the classes even started!

We had a class that was dressed as old people it was quite a hoot!
They were all singing "When I'm 64" I hope I don't look that OLD when I'm 64!

Here are just a few floats (didn't want to bore all of you with the whole lot of them) The one on the right is the jr. class with "Going Fishin in the Dark" and their prince and princess! The one on the left has something to do with Sesame Street...I didn't catch all of it

Smokey the Bear even made an apperance (we do have the Barlow Ranger Station in town) although I don't see how driving on the front of a truck can be safe! I guess it's okay since their are no fires!

Well the ambulance was the end of the parade...my guess was he was waiting for Smokey to fall and they would proceed with CPR!

I swear Madeline never stops moving I couldn't even get a decent picture of her while she was posing and this was take 2! At least Paige stood still! Way to go girlys!

After the parade we came home and just hung out.
Here is Grandpa with the soccer ball, and the other one is what I like to call "3 generations". Note Paul and his Dad are exactly alike and it seems Noah is just like them!!!
